After 20 years in the wellness industry as a Licensed Massage Therapist, Holistic Health Practitioner, and Esthetician, Laura opened Bosk with her partner, Jeff, at the tail end of the pandemic when their fondness for houseplants became more of a quarantine hobby and obsession.  Soon after, what started out as a tiny plant shop, grew into an inclusive self-care healing haven for those seeking refuge, connection, and community through houseplants. For Laura, caring for and connecting with these little green healers was just another form of self-care. ​​Laura grew up knowing herself as a healer and caretaker, and in 2002 pursued her education with Michael Eakin at Body Tune-Up School of Massage in California. There she studied Swedish, Deep Tissue, Myofascial, Craniosacral, Lymphatic Drainage, Intraoral Massage, Tuina, Qi Gong & Reiki and became a Reiki Practitioner and Licensed Massage Therapist. ​She later attended Holistic Life Institute in 2006, where she continued studying both Eastern and Western healing modalities including herbal remedies and applications, and became a certified Holistic Health Practitioner. She then went on to teach massage therapy classes before making her move up to Portland in 2008, where she continued learning and working with a variety of health practitioners, adding new techniques and modalities to her tool belt including Gua-Sha and Chi Nei Tsang (abdominal massage.) ​Laura considers herself a lifelong student and over the years her passion for herbs and their use in holistic skincare broadened as she played around with making her own natural products. In 2017 Laura became a Licensed Esthetician to offer more to her clients. On this path she became reacquainted with the lymphatic system and it's importance to overall health and began incorporating it into her skincare practice as well. Today, tucked behind the plant shop is a hidden spa, aka "The Jungle Room", where Laura offers holistic skincare, using organic plant-based products and healing energy to send her clients off with a complete inner and outer glow. She has retired from performing full body massage but continues practicing energy, abdominal, and lymphatic work, while offering Reiki facials and intraoral buccal massage to help sculpt the facial tissue and keep the lymphatic system working optimally.
